The all new 2023 Honda CR-V has just been unveiled and it is very impressive in every possible way. The new CR-V is more spacious, it is more refined, it is a lot more efficient, and it has a lot more technology. The most popular SUV in the Honda lineup will without a doubt continue to be a standout in its segment, especially with its new hybrid engine that delivers more power and improved efficiency.

A brand-new hybrid powertrain for the 2023 Honda CR-V

The 2023 Honda CR-V will arrive on the market this summer, with a new hybrid version coming later this year. This new hybrid is incredible and features a combination of a four-cylinder engine with an Atkinson-cycle paired with two electric motors for a total output of 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. You will not find a more powerful engine in the CR-V line up and there is more torque in the CR-V hybrid than in any other hybrid SUV. And yet, the average fuel consumption rating will be the best in the segment with an anticipated fuel consumption of less than 6 L per 100 km.

The 2023 CR-V will also be available with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that provides 190 horsepower along with 179 pound-feet of torque. These are the same numbers as the previous 4 cylinder engine in the CR-V, but thanks to a range of improvements the engine is quieter and more efficient while also delivering its power sooner.

The 2023 Honda CR-V has grown in size, increasing total length by 68.6 mm, increasing its wheelbase by 40.6 mm, and increasing its width by 10.1 mm. The new windshield pillars have also been reworked in order to create a more dynamic style while also improving visibility.

Inside, the 2023 Honda CR-V gets a brand-new interior that is a lot more spacious. There is more rear seat legroom (+15.2 mm) and more cargo space as well.  There is a total of 1028 l of cargo space behind the rear seats in both the traditional CR-V and the hybrid model, and the rear load floor can be lowered, expanding the cargo space to 1112 L.  Moreover, the 2023 Honda CR-V gets new front seats which are a lot more comfortable thanks to the new Honda body stabilizing technology and the rear seats can recline 8 degrees.
