ECON mode
There are several factors that contribute to fuel consumption, but some of the most notable include accelerating suddenly and using the air conditioning system at full blast. Instead of simply expecting that owners will drive in an eco-friendly manner, something that is not easy, Honda engineers have developed the ECON driving mode. Once activated using a big green button usually located on the side of the steering column, the ECON mode adjusts several parameters of the vehicle in order to optimize fuel economy.
These parameters include throttle response, air conditioning, and how the transmission operates. Once ECON mode is activated, everything is in place to ensure linear and frugal driving. That being said, the behavior of the car does not become boring, it simply becomes more linear. And do not worry, the air conditioning system still works!
In reality, the ECON mode, despite the fact that it is a very advanced from a technological point of view, does not make the car sluggish. Once ECON mode is active, the changes will be barely noticed by the driver. What is noticed, however, is the improvement in fuel consumption.
ECOAssist
Even if you've read about the best ways to reduce fuel consumption when driving, you know that sometimes it is difficult to put the advice into practice. In addition, there are times when we think we are driving efficiently, but our fuel economy is only average.
That's why Honda created the ECOAssist function that acts like your instructor and tells you when you are driving ecologically. Generally, this is done using bright color displays found near the speedometer. The color will change depending on how you are driving. Green means that you are maximizing your fuel economy. If the color changes to white, then you are driving in such a way that you will be requiring more fuel.
