The 2023 Honda CR-V is an all-new vehicle as Honda completely revamps its most popular model with a new generation. It's been on the road for 25 years and for its second quarter century, it's more complete and improved than ever.
Here are the most important improvements made to the 2023 Honda CR-V.
Hybridity
For us, the most important improvement is certainly the arrival in Canada of the hybrid version. The latter is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine, which is combined with two electric motors. Honda has not yet confirmed the fuel consumption ratings of this model, but we expect something around 6 L/100 km, which will be absolutely excellent. The efficiency of this engine (better power and better fuel economy) is a step forward from anything the model has offered so far.
The Structure
The new CR-V benefits from an improved chassis. Honda claims that the new CR-V drives sportier due to its stronger structure, offering 15% more torsional rigidity and stiffer subframes in the front and rear. Considering this, it's clear that the new CR-V will offer a much sportier ride.
Size, space and comfort
The 2023 CR-V is getting bigger, too. Honda has lengthened it by 2.7 inches, widened it by 0.4 inches, then increased its wheelbase by 1.6 inches. Unsurprisingly, the interior is even roomier, with more room in the rear seats, as well as in the cargo area, where gains have been made; 1113 liters versus 1110 for the old model behind the second row, 2166 liters versus 2146 behind the first. This even means that the rear seat backrest can be reclined in eight different positions. Comfort will be more divine than ever there.
To find out just how much of an upgrade the new 2023 CR-V is, only an in-person review, as well as a test drive, will convince you beyond any doubt. We look forward to discussing it with you.
