Safety ratings for the 2022 Honda Civic and Hatchback model have just come in, and both of Honda's new compact cars have received top marks from the organization responsible for safety ratings in the United States.
The Top Safety Pick+ is awarded to models that achieve the highest safety scores in all six IIHS crash evaluations, which include front, side and rear crash tests as well as the limited overlap crash test.
In addition, the IIHS evaluated the Civic's headlights as well as its collision avoidance technologies, specifically Honda Sensing driver assistance technologies that include Collision Mitigation Braking (CMBS) with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning System, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback also received the highest possible ratings from the IIHS. Both models join other Honda models that have received the organization's top safety rating recently including the 2021 Honda Accord, 2021 Honda Odyssey and 2021 Honda Insight.
