Three reasons you should buy a 2023 Honda Civic instead of a 2023 Nissan Sentra

The Honda Civic and the Nissan Sentra have been neck and neck for generation in the compact sedan segment in Quebec. Both are popular and both have a lot to offer including outstanding reliability and advanced safety features. The Honda Civic has been the best-selling car in Canada for over two decades and that kind of success does not come out of the blue. The Honda Civic has a lot to offer and the 11th generation that has been on the market for the last few years takes everything we love about the Civic and improves on efficiency, safety, comfort, and performance. The Nissan Sentra still has a lot to offer but the Civic stands out in a variety of ways. Here we look at three reasons why you might want to buy a 2023 Honda Civic instead of a 2023 Nissan Sentra.

Better fuel economy in the 2023 Honda Civic

One of the most impressive elements of the 2023 Honda Civic is the fuel economy rating that it offers. The new Civic stands out by delivering an average fuel economy rating of just under 7 L per 100 km and that is despite the fact that it offers better performance as well. Compared to the Nissan Sentra, the 2023 Honda Civic is more fuel-efficient but it is also more powerful courtesy of its standard 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 158 hp and 138 pound-feet of torque. This is about 10% more power than the Sentra and yet the Civic is more efficient.

More available trims and engines

The 2023 Honda Civic offers more powertrain options than the Nissan Sentra. The base engine in the Civic is already more powerful than the powertrain you find in most Civic models, but it is also just a starting point. You can get a 2023 Honda Civic with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and you can also get to even more powerful powertrains in the Honda Civic SI and the Honda Civic Type R. You can also get a coupe version of the Honda Civic or you can go with a hatchback model as well that delivers a lot of interior space. Depending on the model you are looking for, you will have a better chance of finding it in the Honda Civic lineup.

More interior space for your passengers

The 2023 Honda Civic offers a surprisingly spacious interior. It offers 10 mm more front headroom than the Sentra and it offers 15 extra millimetres of front shoulder room. You get an added 10 mm of rear headroom, and a whopping extra 66 mm of rear leg room. That is a full 3 inches more space for your rear seat passengers. The rear seats are also wider, offering nearly 4 extra centimetres of rear shoulder room. This is when comparing the sedan version of the Honda Civic, while the hatchback model gives you even more versatility with an extra 300 L of cargo space. Either way you look at it, the 2023 Honda Civic gives you more interior space then the Nissan Sentra. Give us a call today to learn more!
